Europe is experiencing mass migration from political and social conditions. Immigration from war in the east, from poverty and climate change from the south and social movements of the young within the continent is proving a fertile seed bed for the growth of xenophobia and hate. Our project aims to encourage students to empathise and understand the factors behind migration. Juxtaposing human and bird migration is a tool to encourage pupils’ understanding of migratory patterns. We want to emphasize that migration brings positive results. Avian migration will help highlight the balance brought to both ecosystems and society.
